Simplicity Counts™ Math Program

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What makes your Simplicity Counts™ Math Program different from other programs?

The Simplicity Counts™ Math is a life-coaching program that utilizes math as a modality to change the trajectory of individuals’ lives.

It is NOT a talk therapy program, but it is a DOING program, where the more you do (with the right techniques), the better and more confident you become, hence replacing any negative thoughts you may have once thought about yourself.

It includes three main features you won't find anywhere else.

1. The Simplicity Counts™ Math Program is currently delivered on a Premium 1-on-1 basis. As your private teacher, math coaching expert, and personal life coach, you are simply getting the very BEST in all aspects.

With me, you get UNDIVIDED attention while getting coached to acquire powerful math skills to overcome many math obstacles.

Each session is concisely and strategically structured to deliver the most impactful and outstanding math results for individuals.

Individuals will experience a life-changing transformation with a brighter outlook of math along with increased confidence and self-esteem. This changes the trajectory of their lives and their academic future, doora can finally open to education, careers goals, and dreams, once thought impossible.

2. The Simplicity Counts™ Math Program is a combination of Singapore (the Highest Standard in the World) and North American pedagogy found nowhere else in the world.

These math techniques have been proven over the years to deliver consistent, powerful and long-lasting results as seen in many of my past students.

3. The Simplicity Counts™ Math Program  is the ONLY math program out there that has successfully proven to help individuals catch up with math grade level and potentially exceed the class average within 4 to 12 months* (results vary individually).

The unique three-phrase math coaching process, cultivates a growth mindset, a rock solid math foundation and insurmountable confidence with math. These results are transformative, spilling over to other aspects of growth, life and self-esteem.

Q. What makes Simplicity Counts™ Math Program effective?

The Simplicity Counts™ math and life coaching program consists of precise teaching methodologies that are designed specifically to expand individuals’ neuroplasticity (the changing of brain development), build confidence, and be equipped with strong fundamental mathematical skills and problem-solving strategies.

While acquiring powerful tools, individuals will learn to remain calm when navigating through various mathematical scenarios.

Under my personal guidance and supervision, and along with combined efforts, individuals will see personal growth, confidence and self-esteem increase significantly.

Individuals struggling with math start a clean slate with me.

The Simplicity Counts™ Math Program comprises of three phases.

Phase 1 Focuses on removing fears, anxieties and poorly developed math habits that hindered their previous growth and development.

Phase 2 Focuses on increasing mathematical tools, reinforcing proper mathematical techniques, and building a stronger math framework and foundation.

Phase 3 Focuses on gaining confidence, proficiency and problem-solving independently. Accelerated growth is seen the most in this phase.

Q. Who is this program suitable for?

The Simplicity Counts™ Math Program is suitable:

(1) Those who have never taken tutoring and whose parents want their child to have a clean, strong, SOLID math foundation to start.

(2) Those who have fallen behind a few years with their math proficiency.

(3) Those who have been to several tutors and still have no results.

(4) Those who dislike and/or have been traumatized by math.

The Simplicity Counts™ Math Program is designed to deliver Maximum Results in Minimum Time. Unlike any programs out there, parents can often see transformative results as early as the first two sessions, and it only gets better with time.

Q. What’s the difference between a Math Coach and a Math tutor?

The difference between a Math Coach and a math tutor is the level of expertise - whether if he/she/they are able to produce PROVEN SOLID, CONSISTENT, REPLICABLE RESULTS within a certain span of time.

With a regular math tutor (university students or a certified teacher), parents often rely on the tutor to follow the textbook or may occasionally provide instructional materials for the tutor to teach their child. When the child hasn’t reached a level of independent proficiency, tutors often end up “doing” their child’s homework, making this a band-aid solution.

Whereas as a Math Transformation Specialist and Life Coach like myself, I focus on the end results - and that is to deliver a strong powerful and confident individual who is no longer afraid of math. I transform mindsets, math abilities and work ethics all at once. I also provide ALL instructional 1-on-1 training materials and precise coaching techniques that turn individuals into a Mega Confident Math Rockstar! Read more here.

Q. Did I hear you can take my child who’s behind with math and level up in as little as 25 blocks (45 mins)?

Yes*, pretty much.

With my Simplicity Counts™ Math program, you will be saving years of unnecessary stress on yourself (or/and your child), as well as accumulated tutoring expenses from attempting various tutoring supports.

With me, a couple of coaching expert tweaks is what make the biggest difference. You will be getting practically a brand new individual who enjoys learning math and could open doors to their future.

As a cherry on top, some individuals become so obsessed with math after, they even asked for more math! (see screenshot below).

*depending on age group, learning abilities and how far behind the child is.

Q. Do you offer in-person coaching?

My clients are currently scattered across British Columbia, Alberta and as far down as the United States. In order to serve my students across a diverse typography, it will be most efficient and effective that I serve my clients online.

Q. How does your online coaching work?

Online coaching can be one of the most challenging things to pull off, and not all tutors are equipped or experienced enough to do so effectively.

To actively hold an individual’s attention, while engaging and directing learning, takes a phenomenal amount of skills, experience and expertise, as well as a touch of personality.

Most tutors often find this task daunting and extremely difficult.

And I have been very fortunate that my students often report, “What? It’s over already? That was fast”. I think this speaks volumes.

When individuals are actively engaged and immersed in the process of learning and experiencing hands-on math, they are excited and motivated to “beat” the last best person they were a minute ago. I am there to hold their hand every step of the way.

At every session, individuals often witness the transformation of their personal power right before their very own eyes. This is the epitome of students’ experience when they coach with me.

The high engagement level has taken me decades to master and learn, which I’m sure many individuals would appreciate it. Wouldn’t you? *wink* 😉

Q. What if my child prefers in-person over online coaching?

I am honestly not for everyone or for every child. First of all, individuals have to be coachable for me to begin the influencing and moulding the process.

Hence, we usually begin with a “Meet and Greet” (aka assessment and strategic consultation) which you can book here). This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other.

Q. Would the Simplicity Counts™ Math Program match up with the school curriculum?

Mathematics is an “international” language. The Simplicity Counts™ Math Program supports, enhances, and strengthens learning the Canadian or American Math curriculum in both private and public schools.

Individuals find math less stressful and enjoyable after participating in the Simplicity Counts™ Math Program.

Q. When is the best time to enroll?

If you have a child, the most efficient and economical time to enroll your child to coach with me is when they’re between Grade 6 and 7.

All they need is the Silver-50 block package and they can comfortably integrate back into the classroom, along with their peers very quickly.

Due to the compounding effects of math, older grades will require more coaching blocks to catch up and excel ahead. Please consult.

Q. Do you provide all math training materials?

Yes, I provide all math training materials, and they are at no additional cost to you.

Q. Will there be homework from your program?

All assigned homework is generally considered as very reasonable.

They are considered independent practice. This will solidify and accelerate your child’s learning, allowing us to progress quickly at the next session.

If homework is not completed, the results will greatly vary. We likely may not be able to achieve the desired results within a certain time.

To get the most from the program, individuals are highly encouraged to complete their assignments before the next scheduled session.

Q. What happens after the Simplicity Counts™ Math Program?

After successfully completing the Simplicity Counts™ math program with me, individuals would have had years of missing math gaps filled nicely, skills caught up, and levelled up significantly.

Moving forward, as for parents with school age children, you generally have 3 options after our coaching expedition:

Option 1 - Hire a math tutor (or yourself) to oversee light maintenance (highly recommended).

Option 2 - Have the classroom teacher take over instruction.

Option 3 - If you love what I do AND ONLY if there is space available, you may be able to secure a spot for your child to continue coaching with me. However, I reserve the rights and spots for individuals who need this math and life transformational service the most.

These options are yours.

Q. If I am enrolling my child, how involved do parents need to be for this Simplicity Counts™ Math Program?

Generally, not much. The dynamics between a parent and a child are usually quite different and opposite one coming from a professional math coach and the student.

I found the more “hands-off” the approach parents are with this math coaching process, the greater results they see in their child.

Usually, the parent’s role would be to ensure the child is not overly stimulated with extra-curricular activities, have a good night’s rest (one of my requirements), and is in a well-balanced environment.

There may be times if additional support is needed from parents to create better results for the child, I will communicate this ahead of time.

Q. Why do you offer packages only and not hourly rates?

This is a life-coaching program with a strong emphasis on math, where I deliver life-changing results to change the trajectory of your child’s life.

Like going to a personal stylist for a complete head-to-toe makeover, it is often impossible to quantify every step into a dollar figure.

Hence, I am best honoured for my professional experience and expertise in coaching packages, and not by the hourly rates.

In a package, you can expect a certain transformative outcome, within a timeframe with me. I make the impossible, possible, provided if you follow instructions precisely.

Q. How are payments made?

All sessions in the Simplicity Counts™ math program are prepaid and billed via SquareUp. SquareUp accepts all major credit cards.

Payment plans and other options are available. Please consult.

Q. What are your availabilities like?

My availabilities are Sundays, Tuesdays to Thursdays.

The Simplicity Counts™ math program is an accelerated and intensive program that rides off a learning momentum and a certain level of dedication and consistency is expected from the student.

This program is built with the premise of integrating kids back into the classroom ASAP. Hence, sessions are conducted through spring, summer and winter breaks, with a few weeks of break in between.

Your child will need time and dedication, and not be overly committed to excessive extra-curricular activities or travel plans, for our coaching expedition to work effectively.

Please keep this in mind. Should you have any questions, kindly raise them during our assessment and consultation appointment.

Q. Do you offer Drop-in or “Ala-cart” Sessions?

My coaching availability is currently reserved for students enrolled in the Simplicity Counts™ Math program and past students who require a quick touch-up.

Please call to check for availability.

Q. Where are you located?

I am located off the junction of Guildford and Lansdowne Drive, near Coquitlam Center in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada (35-40 minutes East of Vancouver).

All sessions are currently conducted online via Zoom. You will need a laptop / Desktop or a tablet, a sharp webcam, a clear mic (or headset), and a stable internet connection.
